The Luciana Matalon Foundation is delighted to announce its collaboration with the Museum of Contemporary Art at Castello Dal Verme in Zavattarello for Samuele Arcangioli’s solo exhibition “FURRIES”, which will run from 18 July to 4 September 2026.
This collaboration stems from a shared desire to promote contemporary artistic research and to highlight material and graphic languages. At the heart of the exhibition is a selection of around thirty works that explore the gaze as a space for connection and empathetic dialogue between humans and animals. The exhibition is divided into two sections: the ‘Carte’ (which draw on in-depth research into the language of art printing) and the ‘Legni’, where the imperfections and grain of the material play a direct role in the construction of the image.
The Artist
Samuele Arcangioli (Varese, 1970) graduated in Painting from the Brera Academy with a dissertation on stone lithography. His career has been characterised by extensive international travel (including trips to Europe, Japan, Africa and the USA) and ongoing academic work. A former lecturer at the Academy of Bologna and the Polytechnic University of Milan, he has been teaching Lithography at Brera since 2022 and serves as an arbitrator for the AIMSC (Italian Association of Printing and Paper Museums). Alongside traditional painting, Arcangioli is also known for his exploration of the dialogue between art and gaming culture, which has led him to exhibit at the 54th Venice Biennale (Neoludica event) and to collaborate on a regular basis with organisations such as Game Art Gallery and Ubisoft Italia.
The Matalon Foundation invites its members and the public to discover this intense experience of mutual observation against the historic backdrop of Castello Dal Verme.
