From November 7 to 29, 2025, the Luciana Matalon Foundation in Milan will host Onironautica 3, a multidisciplinary project conceived by Nello Taietti and curated by Vera Agosti, under the patronage of the Consulate General of Japan in Milan.

Onironautica 3 marks the final chapter of a trilogy that began in 2019 and continued in 2023. It concludes a visionary, multidisciplinary journey in which photography, theater, and sculptural representation once again merge as tools of oneiric and metaphysical exploration.

Within an immersive installation, the 85 photographic works on display—sixty-five portraits of the performing artists by Nello Taietti and twenty backstage images by Gianmarco Taietti—convey the suspension of time and the poetic power of gesture. Each shot becomes a trace of the dream, a fragment of light and matter that reveals the invisible. As curator Vera Agosti points out, the photographs “are clean, essential, and powerful, capable of capturing the dancers’ movement and expressiveness as archetypal visions.”

On November 22, the theatrical performance Onironautica 3 will be staged in a double showing (at 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.). Set among the works of Japanese artist and calligrapher Sisyu, the performance transforms the space into a symbolic and meditative environment where the audience is invited to embark on an inner journey. The performance unfolds through three moments of increasing intensity, accompanied by a soundscape that weaves together classical and contemporary influences, in dialogue with dance and visual matter.

In this final stage of the project, Nello Taietti expands his vision: the dream becomes a mythical language and a sacred space where the visible and the invisible meet—not as an escape from reality, but as a way to recognize its deeper essence. The spirituality that emerges is not dogmatic but plural and poetic, close to animism and the mythical thought of the origins.

As part of the initiatives promoted during the exhibition, on Saturday, November 8, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., a free Butoh dance workshop will be held by dancer Luan Machado. To register, participants must send an email to [email protected] and await confirmation from the Luciana Matalon Foundation.
